What is thermal imaging?
Building and Pest inspections made more efficient using improved thermal imaging.
An infrared camera shows exactly where the problems are and helps focus the inspector’s attention, allowing proper diagnosis of areas.
FLIR infrared cameras instantly show inspectors what is wet and what is dry. It is the easiest and quickest method to detect energy waste, moisture and electrical issues in buildings. This method is popular and effective with building and pest inspections, as an infrared camera quickly improves the quality of inspections.
Why is thermal imaging beneficial to an inspection?
Thermal image cameras take the mystery out of building inspection and are used to quickly detect heat differences or heat transfer on the surfaces of the various building objects, usually floors, walls and ceilings. The images assist in safely identifying water leaks, termite activity and/or damage.
We Have Upgraded Our Thermal Imaging Camera
Brisbane Building Reports invest in new technology to ensure the best quality inspections. A new purchase this week (May, 2021) we upgraded our “Thermal Imaging Camera” to the “FLIR” E5xt.
The FLIR E5xt is a perfect thermal imaging camera for use within the building and construction industries to discover unseen issues. This camera gives us the ability to instantly detect and validate temperature differences ranging from -20 deg through to 400 deg and then using Wi-Fi the images are uploaded straight to our smartphones.
Confirmation: Even though the stain below was visible to the naked eye, we were able to verify that there was still a moisture penetration issue and the stain wasn’t old.
Once again, visually we can see water damage, but technology confirmed it was still an ongoing problem.
These photos show less obvious, visible damage in a wall behind a shower stall. Water was found to be leaking from the shower out into the hallway. Discovering this early saved the purchaser thousands of dollars.
