What Does a Building Inspector Do?

BRISBANE BUILDING REPORTS

A Building Inspector Recognises the presence of defects.

A building inspector is trained to recognise the presence of any defects or safety concerns in a dwelling or structure. The identification of any defects are in accordance with Australian Standards (AS 4349.1-2007) and through many years of experience Brisbane Building Report’s expert inspector is trusted and certified by these standards.

During the inspection, the roof void and the sub-floor will be accessed and assessed in addition to the internal and external parts of the building. In doing this, we can identify any major or minor defects in the structure visually and by physical inspection. For example, damaged timber may not be obvious or visible through painted surfaces – so as experienced inspectors, we tap on frames, door jams, cabinets and components of wood construction to detect the presence of weakened timber.

It is essential to contract an experienced inspector to ensure the most thorough inspection of your home from top to bottom and identify any defects or safety issues that may devalue the property or put your family at risk.
